Structured Art Deco Garden
The strong architectural style of the house called for a more structured approach to the landscape. Clipped cubes, stepped hedges and large expanses of tailored groundcover form a suitable backdrop to this imposing residence.
Large cubes of clipped box hedge dominate the space. Chinese Star Jasmine is used extensively as a ground cover. Clipped pencil pines flank the front entrance complimenting the porthole windows nearby. Species are mass planted and kept to a minimum of varieties.
Dominant plant species:
Buxus sempervirens, Trachelospermum jasminoides, Magnolia “Little Gem’, Raphiolepis “Spring Pearl”.
